Child Faith Formation & Sacrament Preparation
WELCOME! Your child’s formation in the faith is the most important gift you will ever give your child. Thank you for making your child’s faith formation a priority in the life of your family. St. Thomas & St. Timothy Faith Formation Program is excited to partner with parents and guardians to help fulfill their promise at their child’s Baptism to educate and nurture their child’s faith.
Faith Formation classes for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade begin in early Fall and meet in person, approximately two to three times a month. Weekly Mass attendance is a vital part of the faith formation of children and families. Our program includes family Masses, faith-filled events, service opportunities and family faith activities to do at home. We gather monthly for Children’s Masses. At these Masses, children are invited to serve as readers, greeters, and gift bearers and families are asked to help host a fellowship coffee hour.
Sacramental preparation is traditionally offered as a two-year program beginning in First Grade. In Second Grade, children prepare for and receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. The program includes two sacramental workshops where families gather, learn and grow in faith and love as the Body of Christ.
Faith Formation catechists and volunteers are greatly needed and appreciated! Opportunities include teaching, team-teaching or job sharing, tutoring for sacramental preparation, or assisting as a helper in a classroom. (Confirmation service hours!) Volunteers also help with coffee hours, workshops and special events throughout the year. Please prayerfully consider assisting with this important and rewarding ministry. Check out the Volunteer and Catechist Page for information and necessary requirements.
Faith Formation registration is open August 1 through August 31, 2026. Space is limited as we rely on volunteers to teach classes. Consider being a Catechist and receive a discount on registration fees. After August 31, children will be admitted in the order they are registered provided there is space available.
